DMC Floss for hand stitching/Blanket Stitch.

Large needle and Silver Cording for the hanger.
Instructions:
1. You can make this star as big or as small as you want by enlarging or shrinking the diamond pattern.
2. Print and cut your Diamond Template.
3. Trace your diamond onto the backside of your fabric with a marking tool and cut out with scissors. For 1 star you will need a total of 6 diamonds. Be mindful of your placement of your diamond when using directional fabric.
4. Lay out your star on your cutting mat, so you can visualize your placement for when you sew the diamonds together.
5. Where the center points are going to connect, put a ‘dot’ about a ¼” from the point.
6. Start sewing by laying one diamond on top of another, Right Sides Together. Start at the dot’ and sew to the edge using a ¼ inch seam allowance. The Idea is to leave part that connects at the point unsewn, so they lay better.
7. Iron the seams open after you attach a diamond.
8. Continue sewing until all diamonds are sewn together.
9. Pin your star on top of your backing fabric- Right Sides Together
10. Sew around using a ¼ inch seam allowance, leaving a portion open to turn it inside out.
11. Trim around your star. Snip up to the seam allowance in the crevices, so that when you turn it in the seam will lay flatter around the edges. Turn your star Right Side Out.
12. Using the Prym Vario Creative Took, attach your rivet to the center of the star.
13. Being mindful of the rivet, gently stuff your star with Poly-Fill. Using a Chop Stick or dowel, push the poly-Fill into the corner. If you find the rivet is in the way of your stuffing, You can attach the rivet after STEP 13.
14. Using a needle and thread, sew your opening closed.
OPTIONAL finish your star with a top stitch, or hand stitch edges such as a blanket-stitch using DMC Floss and Needle.
Using a needle and your Silver Cording, attach your ‘hanger’ to the star.
